Binding Wire

Binding wire is an essential workshop material used to hold jewellery components securely in place during soldering and assembly. By keeping parts aligned while heat is applied, binding wire helps jewellers achieve cleaner joins, more accurate positioning and more reliable solder flow.

Available in a range of gauges and materials, binding wire is commonly used for securing ring shanks, holding settings in alignment, stabilising multi-part assemblies and supporting delicate pieces during complex soldering operations. Its flexibility allows it to wrap tightly around components while still being easy to remove after soldering.

For high-temperature work, iron binding wires provide excellent heat resistance and strength, making them ideal for repeated bench use. Binding wire can also reduce movement caused by thermal expansion, helping minimise gaps, misalignment and rework.
