The measuring results are indicated by digital display. For the indication of the measuring results, you can choose one of the six most frequently used measuring norms in the world: “Europe Standard“: diameter (mm) and circumference of the finger (mm); France; UK; USA; Japan: diameter indicated in the measuring unit used in the respective country.
Power supply by standard batteries or accumulators. The low energy consumption and the automatic switch-off during idle phases guarantee a long service life of the batteries.
The first digital unit world-wide for the measuring ring size is now available. With the Ringmeter any user can determine the exact circumference of a fi nger in just one simple measurement. Repeated tryings - often by forcing fingers in too small steel rings – belong to the past. In a comfortable and exact way the circumference of the finger is determined by slight pressure at the widest point. By measuring at different parts of the finger variations of the circumference caused e.g. by temperature changes can be found quickly and easily, all in one measuring step. A particular advantage when handicraft solutions are required, such as a spring or a ball in the inner rail.
The unit is highly user-friendly. Every international ring dimension standards can be selected by push button. The ergonomical design of the unit is for both left- and right handed users and can be operated single-handed. The Elma Ringmeter facilitates the exact and quick determination of the correct ring size. Even the measuring of the correct size for bomb-shaped, hollow or exceptionally wide rings is no problem. In the early 1900's Jewellers were experiencing difficulties, and delays due to the sizing of rings, as there was a rapid growth in the jewellery making industry.
In 1920 Joseph Pepper of no.3 Vyse Street Birmingham, saw there was a need to develop a sizing standard in the manufacture of rings.
The Trademark Wheatsheaf was developed and founded by Joseph Pepper in 1920 to maintain an accurate scale of measurement to the whole of the jewellery making trade. The Wheatsheaf scale of measurement swept across the whole of the UK, to eliminate wasted time and material's in everyday production of ring's and their sizes.
In 1992 Wheatsheaf saw a need to expand it's tool range to include ISO, USA and European standards. This enabled jeweller's to have complete confidence to compete in the ever growing international market.
To this day all Wheatsheaf jewellery making tools are made to a very high quality and are checked by hand to maintain the original high standard of accuracy. This now range's from the UK to the world wide web and is still the only GUARANTEED way of accurate ring sizing.
