Silicon Carbide Separating Discs and Cut-Off Wheels

Separating discs and cut-off wheels are used with a suitable mandrel and flexible-shaft handpiece for controlled cutting in jewellery and casting work.

The thin silicon-carbide separating discs cut on the edge and, depending on the model, on one or both faces. They are suited to cutting chrome and other non-precious casting alloys, including the removal of casting sprues.

The rubber-bonded aluminium-oxide cut-off wheels provide a strong, durable option for sprue removal and other cut-off operations. Different diameters and thicknesses allow jewellers to choose between a narrow, precise cut and the additional strength of a heavier wheel.

Always use the correct mandrel, observe the specified maximum operating speed and wear suitable eye protection.
