Polishing Pins and Points
Small abrasive pins and points for controlled finishing in narrow areas, recesses and detailed jewellery work. Choose 2 mm or 3 mm sizes and a suitable grade, with matching mandrels linked on each product.
Finishing Small and Detailed Areas
The slim working profile of polishing pins and miniature points helps you reach areas that are awkward to finish with a larger wheel. Choose the shape and diameter to suit the space, and use light, controlled pressure to preserve surrounding detail.
Choosing a Series and Grade
This range includes miniature points and polishing pin series in different grades. Start with a grade suited to the surface marks you need to remove, then progress to finer grades for further refinement or polishing. Grade names and colours vary between series, so use the individual product descriptions rather than matching colours across the range.
Related products on each listing link to other grades in the same series and diameter, making it easier to choose the next finishing stage.
Use the Correct Mandrel
- 2 mm pins: Use the MA42000 mandrel for 2 mm polishing pins.
- 3 mm pins and points: Use the MA0140 mandrel for 3 mm stones and points.
The 2 mm and 3 mm measurements refer to the abrasive pin or point diameter, not the mandrel shank. Fit these unmounted abrasives into their matching holder; do not insert them directly into a handpiece chuck or collet. Check the mandrel shank is compatible with your handpiece.
Working Through the Finishing Stages
Check the surface frequently and remove the marks from each stage before moving to a finer grade. Clear abrasive residue from the work between stages and keep different grades separate. Follow the speed limits for the particular abrasive, mandrel and handpiece, and stop the tool before changing accessories.
