Miniature Buffs for Jewellery Polishing and Finishing
Miniature buffs give jewellers access to small surfaces and detailed areas when working with rotary handpieces. Choose from mounted muslin, flannel, treated cotton and chamois buffs for polishing, or satin and matt finishing buffs for a softer, less reflective finish.
Choosing a Miniature Buff
Choose the buff material and construction to suit the surface and finish required. Stitched muslin buffs provide firmer support, while softer flannel, chamois and cotton buffs suit lighter polishing work. Use an appropriate polishing compound for the metal and stage of finishing.
Satin and matt finishing buffs produce a textured finish rather than a high polish. Select the grade to suit the effect required, and test on a sample before finishing the piece.
Keep Buffs Separate for Each Compound
Keep a separate polishing buff for each compound to avoid carrying coarser abrasive into the final polishing stage. Check the shank size and maximum operating speed of each accessory before fitting it to your handpiece.
