Unmounted Miniature Felts

Unmounted miniature felt wheels, knife-edge wheels and cones help jewellers polish small surfaces and detailed areas with a rotary handpiece. Choose soft or hard felt wheels in a range of diameters, or a knife-edge or cone profile for narrower areas. Fit each felt to a suitable mandrel and use a polishing compound appropriate to the metal and finish required.

Choosing a Felt Shape and Density

Soft felt wheels offer more give when following contours, while hard felt provides firmer support. Choose the wheel diameter to suit the working area. Knife-edge wheels give access to narrow grooves, while miniature cones suit recesses and curved surfaces.

Mandrels and Polishing Compounds

These felts are supplied unmounted. Check each product for dimensions and compatible mounting options before fitting it to your handpiece. Keep a separate felt for each polishing compound to avoid carrying coarser abrasive into the final polish, and use light, controlled pressure to preserve detail.
