Cast finishing

All castings are bead blasted to ensure you receive the highest quality finish. We also offer at no charge an extra chemical stripping service.

Moulds

Casting can be ordered from stored moulds. Our casting team will inject wax into the mould, which will then go onto a tree of waxes which get invested and then finally cast.

We have developed our own specialized mould cutting techniques and offer an urgent service when required at no extra cost.

We have several moulding materials available to allow for the most suitable option and the best result from your patterns.

Alloy Density Conversion

Finding the final weight of a cast piece can help with job costing, so there are no unexpected surprises.

You can use the online calculators page to convert the weight of your casting from the weight of the wax.

Ordering Castings

While we are developing the online casting ordering process, please continue to order castings either by email, contact us, or else as part of a tools order using the field for additional requirements.

We will need to know:

  • Mould Number
  • Required Alloy
  • Quantity.
  • Additional requirements. regarding sprue length or any resizing of the wax to be performed.

Charging

For all castings, there are 2 charges that apply:

  • A cast charge is the labour portion of the waxing, casting, and de-treeing of the item.
    • This will vary based on the alloy and the physical size of the piece, as well as any other processes done.
  • And a metal charge,
    • This is the weight of the cast piece charged out at the per gram metal price at the time of invoicing.

When an item is from a 3D print, there will be additional printing costs applied. These are separate from any casting charges.
