Solder Wire Data

Jewellers' wire solder is a form of solder that comes in long, thin wire-like strands. It's an alloy specifically formulated to have a melting point lower than the metals it is used to join. This property is essential for the soldering process, as it allows the solder to melt and flow to join the pieces without melting the actual workpieces.

It's available in different grades based on melting points: hard, medium, and easy. 'Hard' has the highest melting point and is used first in multiple soldering operations, followed by 'medium' and then 'easy'.

Please note that solder is sold per gram, with a minimum of 1 metre for silver solder.
