Slotted Cup Bur

Commonly used to round the ends of wire.

Please note that cup burs are measured by the external diameter as this allows for the use of a bur gauge to measure them. The internal hemispherical recess size is smaller.

For 0.8 wire as used on earrings, a 1.3-1.5mm cup bur is suitable.

Slotted burs allow for material to exit the cutting surface.
