Fitting an unmounted wheel brush

Unmounted brushes are supplied without a shank. Fit the wheel to a mandrel that matches its centre hole and your handpiece, and check it is secured and runs true before use.

Choosing bristle firmness

Extra soft bristles give flexible contact for delicate polishing work, while stiff bristles provide a firmer brushing action. Choose a suitable polishing compound and use light pressure. Keep separate wheels for different compounds and clean the work between stages. Follow the brush and mandrel manufacturers' speed limits.
